The Ultrasound Team at the Prince of Wales Hospital is a professional team dedicated to the provision of a high quality clinical ultrasound service, comprehensive training and innovative research. Formed with the genesis of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Organ Imaging sixteen years ago, the ultrasound team has expanded to incorporate all aspects of medical ultrasound.
We provide a complete range of ultrasound services from Obstetrics and Gynaecology to Vascular to Breast, Head and Neck, Musculoskeletal, Paediatrics and Genitourinary. Specialist expertise is at hand in all these areas enabling us to provide a high standard, diverse clinical service.

The Ultrasound Team is proud of our regionally recognised in-house sonographer-training programme. This training programme strives to ensure the provision of high quality of training to local trainee sonographers, the majority of whom continue to work at the Prince of Wales. In addition, there is an ongoing continuous education programme for experienced sonographers with regular sonography updates, case and topic presentations. A large, well-documented and catalogued ultrasound film library has been established for teaching and perusal. .

We have an active research programme with ongoing research in vascular, abdominal obstetrics and genitourinary ultrasound. Members of the Ultrasound Team regularly present research papers at local and international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed international journals.

We are proud of what we have achieved over the past sixteen years. Through mutual support and encouragement, the Ultrasound Team has grown in numbers and depth. We shall continue to embrace the new ultrasound technologies as they emerge and can only but be excited by even more interesting times ahead.
