From the National Guideline Clearinghouse summary: "Women who are presumed to have [a hereditary syndrome that places them at exceedingly high risk] should have at least an annual physical exam and a bimanual rectovaginal examination, CA 125 determinations, and transvaginal ultrasonography (TVS) until childbearing is completed or at age 35, at which time prophylactic bilateral oophorectomy is recommended."
