| | B. General infection control guidelines for staff |
- Ensure you are acquainted with general infection control guidelines and protocols for each modality, attend training sessions and keep yourself updated.
- During a radiology session the computer should only be used by the radiologist/radiographer typing their reports.
- Try to talk to colleagues on the phone rather than face to face.
- Try not to call or visit staff during sessions. Never enter a room when warning signs are posted.
- Keep rooms well ventilated and where appropriate keep doors open to stop handles being used.
- Dispose of masks and contaminated apparel in designated sites.
- If you see fellow staff are not following guidelines it is your duty to remind them.
- When eating and drinking do not talk and try to face away from colleagues (Never eat or drink in radiology sessions).
- Cover pager with a disposable plastic bag.
- Take sick leave and see a doctor if you develop symptoms.
